Sewing a Regency (Day) Dress [Chapter 3 1/2: Strategy Update]

I dreamt about the dress - and the blue material.
So, first, the green one shall be dealt with in second, and then I came to realize a couple of things: the pattern could be... let's say, not perfect, and instead of sharing something that may need too many adjustments, I'm going to work on a standard pattern that could be adapted to different sizes (hopefully).
In order to make sure that my pattern works, I'm going to try it.

Chapter 4 won't be posted until I've finished the dress, but that means that the pattern can be trusted, and I can post Chapter 5: Cutting the Pieces, Chapter 6: Assembling the Dress, and Chapter 7: Showing Off Modelling the Dress at the same time.
Unfortunately, the Easter break is happening very soon, which means that two weeks of my life are about to be eaten up by Muggles.
Well, I'll have time to convert all the measurements meticulously...

I should have realized the issue about creating the pattern and posting it straight away, but I think the pollen's melting my brain cells.

See you soon-ish with (hopefully) four new sewing posts...

Now that I've been bitten again by my sewing-bug (& that I feel soooo much better), I think I'm going to start buying magazines with patterns again (my nan used to buy at least one each month, but she never kept anything).

Doing the maths for the pattern I'm going to post is the part that's going to drive me nuts (hopefully, the muggles won't slave me so much that I can't work on that); once that's done, I'll test-print the pattern (if my plan works, I should be able to offer a full printable pattern for a size 12).
If my assistant doesn't drive me nuts, cutting and sewing should take a weekend. The hem will be a bit of an issue (as usual), since I've got to work on it all alone, and I don't have a tailor's dummy.
Taking a photo of the finished product on me will be a bit of a challenge, too.
All in all, this adventure should (*fingers crossed*) be fully posted by the end of April, or early in May.

Have fun with your patterns! (once you're done with the paint?)

Hey, Sis,

Good luck with the math. Just remember to double-check your figures and take your time on them, and all should be well. I'm sure the dress will turn out gorgeous.

Thanks, Bro!
I'll triple-check... just to be sure, you know. ;)
I think my dresses are going to be really nice (I'll "just" need some good weather here... that's "all"). ô.O
